Consoles

Do I have a preference?

I started my Mixing journey on analog (Mackie 1604-VLZ3 & 3204-VLZ3) consoles. Since attending Full Sail, I have worked on the Allen & Heath SQ6, DiGiCo Quantum 388, Avid S6L, Yamaha CL5 & QL5, and more. I often find myself working as the Monitor Engineer for Live Labs and working on the Avid S6L. I am constantly learning more and more about that console every day.

Pre-Production

Input Patches & Stage Plots

One thing I have found that I enjoy making is Input Patches and Stage Plots. Not only are they important for pre-planning, but the organization and puzzle-like aspects of including what a band needs and what the venue has make them a welcoming challenge.

In my Project and Portfolio 5 class, we completed 3 assignments with such challenges.

SoundVision Design

PP5 Design Project

In this project, we took a Vectorworks venue that we built in PP4 (See Lighting Portfolio) and added a speaker system. Building what we needed dimension-wise in Sound Vision, connecting the AMPs in LANetwork Manager, and pasting it into our Vectorworks project as a whole.

AUDIO

I have interests in all departments of production. One of these departments is Audio.

Between working to build Input Patches and Stage Plots, and mixing Monitors or Front of House, I have enjoyed learning and gaining experience doing it all.
